Anne Hathaway had to get her hair cut off for her role as Fantine and couldn’t stop herself from crying.
Nicola Sloane her co-star was entrusted with the job of cutting her hair and was the one who revealed what a difficult experience it was for Anne. She had to cut her hair with a knife to give it an authentic look for the film and this didn’t go down well with Anne.
Anne had let her hair grow for almost 3 years before she had to get it chopped off for this role. She broke into tears after the haircut when she saw how short her hair was in the front. The main reason she was so hurt was because she was growing it for her marriage.
She sold the hair after this and gave the money to charity.
